Our speaker was Nash Brock, Executive Director for Ontario County Habitat for Humanity.
Nash gave an overview of Habitat for Humanity and the services it provides. Highlights included:
- Their mission is bringing people together for a common purpose – that everyone has a decent place to live.
- Started in 1976 and has grown into a global non-profit organization world-wide
- Ontario Co. has built 20 homes, 9 of them in Geneva.
- 40% of the population is below poverty level.
- Many homes are aging and in disrepair with problems such as mold which creates chronic illness.
- A better home environment will foster a higher success rate, health improvements and families will spend more time with each other

How to Help
- Volunteers for outreach (Currently over 400 volunteers)
- Mentorship
- Special events
- Most importantly, spread the word to neighbors and community.
